Baby Sleep Positions Illustrated

Regardless of whether you are a co-sleeping family, one that trains your baby to sleep in his crib at night, or any variation in between, at some point in time you have had the experience of an infant/toddler sleeping next to you in bed. It always starts out as a sweet, touching moment, but eventually it becomes a late night circus.

The clever guys over at HowToBeADad.com have come up with some very funny illustrated diagrams of situations parents encounter when “Little Punkin’” gets to sleep with Mom and Dad for a night. My favorite one is “Booby Trap” – the Indiana Jones metaphor is hilariously spot-on.

Question: Which one of the illustrated sleep positions was your favorite? Any other classic ones they need to cover? Leave a comment below:

You have done all of these. That’s why we taught you to sleep in your own crib. You can continue your little boy breakdancing to your heart’s content, Mom and I will be sound asleep in our bed. See you in the morning!

Thankfully, we have not yet encountered this…and may it never be!

There will be a nightmare one day, and you shall see the true level of Emsleigh’s Kung Fu skills. Your spine will be bruised. Let’s hope she doesn’t kick a vital organ.

Haha. Hmmm I don’t have kids yet, but I think they will be in their crib more often than not once I do have them. Thanks for this post. I can now empathize with my brother and sister-in-law. They have two kids under the age of 5.

Good for you. We are definitely NOT proponents of co-sleeping. Regardless, your kid will end up in your bed at some point. Then you will really be able to relate to these. :)
